Casali Cakes Terms and Conditions

By placing an order with Casali Cakes, the customer confirms they have read, understood and agreed to the terms and conditions outlined below.

 

1. Communication and Responsibility

Casali Cakes will communicate only with the named customer listed on the invoice. It is the customer’s responsibility to ensure all details regarding product choice, design, spelling, colours, sizing, flavours, dietary requirements and allergen information are correct before confirming the order.

Messages, amendments or approvals from friends, family members or third parties will not be accepted unless previously authorised in writing by the customer.

Inspiration images are welcomed however, Casali Cakes does not replicate designs exactly and reserves the right to interpret designs creatively in their own style.

Casali Cakes reserves the right to refuse any order that:

  • breaches copyright or trademark laws,
  • promotes discrimination, hate, violence or illegal activity,
  • contains inappropriate or offensive content,
  • includes personal identifying information such as addresses or telephone numbers.

 

2. Quotations, Deposits and Booking Confirmation

All quotations are valid for 30 days from the date issued. A quotation does not secure a booking. Orders are confirmed only once the required deposit has been received. Casali Cakes operates on a strictly first come, first served basis. Once payment of a deposit has been made, the customer enters into a legally binding agreement with Casali Cakes. Payments are accepted via bank transfer.

Celebration Cakes

  • Minimum order value: £55
  • Final balance due: 1 week before collection or delivery

Dessert Tables

  • Minimum order value: £100
  • Final balance due: 1 week before collection or delivery

Wedding Cakes

  • Minimum order value: £150
  • A non-refundable deposit of £50 is required to secure the wedding date
  • The remaining balance must be paid no later than 4 weeks before the wedding date

Wedding bookings made within 4 weeks of the event date must be paid in full at the time of booking.

 

3. Payment Terms

Invoices will be sent via email to confirm all bookings.

Final balances must be paid by the stated due date. Failure to make payment on time may result in:

  • late payment fees,
  • delays to production,
  • cancellation of the order,
  • forfeiture of all monies already paid.

Casali Cakes is not responsible for sending payment reminders. All payment deadlines are calculated in business days (Monday–Friday).

 

4. Cancellations, Refunds and Date Changes

All cancellations must be made in writing via email. Deposits become non-refundable after 24 hours from payment being received.

For wedding cake orders:

  • cancellations made within 6 weeks of the wedding date may result in all payments made becoming non-refundable due to preparation and scheduling already being underway,
  • requests to transfer bookings to another date are subject to availability.

Refunds will not be issued for cancellations caused by personal circumstances including illness, relationship breakdowns, venue cancellations or other unforeseen events.

If Casali Cakes is unable to fulfil the order due to exceptional circumstances beyond reasonable control, a full refund of monies paid will be issued.

 

5. Delivery, Collection and Setup

Local delivery may be available for an additional fee depending on location and availability. Delivery charges will be included within the quotation. Collection and delivery times will be agreed in advance. Customers collecting orders are responsible for arriving on time. Late collections may result in additional charges or rearranged collection times.

For wedding cakes and dessert tables:

  • cakes may be assembled on-site depending on the design,
  • sufficient setup time and venue access must be provided,
  • a designated contact person must be available where necessary.

Once the cake has been collected, delivered or fully set up, the responsibility for the product transfers to the customer or venue.

Casali Cakes is not liable for damage caused after this point including:

  • incorrect transportation,
  • mishandling,
  • venue staff or guest interference,
  • movement of the cake,
  • unsuitable storage,
  • heat, weather, humidity or direct sunlight,
  • accidental damage after collection or setup.

No changes to cake placement or styling will be made on the event day unless authorised by the customer or designated contact person.

 

6. Equipment Hire and Display Stands

Display stands, spacers, separators and other hired equipment may require a refundable security deposit. All hired items must be returned in their original condition within the agreed timeframe. Late returns may incur a £5 daily fee. Lost, damaged or unreturned items may result in partial or full loss of the security deposit.

Customers must not place hired items in dishwashers or use abrasive cleaning products unless instructed otherwise.

 

7. Cake Structure and Safety

Tiered cakes contain dowels and internal supports for structural safety. These must be removed before serving or consumption. Customers are responsible for informing caterers, venue staff and guests about any internal supports or non-edible decorative elements. Artificial or wired flowers may contain food-safe tape or support materials which must also be removed before consumption. Care, storage, transportation and cutting instructions will be provided where appropriate.

Cake smashing or forceful handling of tiered cakes is not recommended due to internal supports.

 

8. Allergies and Dietary Requirements

Every precaution is taken to accommodate dietary requirements wherever possible. However, all products are prepared in the same kitchen environment and Casali Cakes cannot guarantee the complete absence of cross-contamination.

Products may contain or come into contact with:

  • milk,
  • eggs,
  • wheat/gluten,
  • nuts,
  • soy,
  • and other allergens.

Ingredient and allergen information is available upon request and should be reviewed carefully before consumption. It is the customer’s responsibility to inform Casali Cakes of any allergies or dietary requirements before placing an order. By proceeding with the order, the customer accepts full responsibility regarding allergen risks and consumption.

 

9. Damage, Complaints and Quality Concerns

By accepting collection or delivery of the product, the customer confirms they are satisfied with the order and its condition at the time of exchange. If damage occurs after collection or delivery, responsibility lies solely with the customer. Where possible, Casali Cakes may offer repair services for damaged products at an additional cost.

Any concerns regarding quality or condition must be reported within 48 hours of collection or delivery and must include:

  • clear photographic evidence,
  • return of the product where requested.

Failure to provide evidence within this timeframe may void the complaint.

 

10. Personalised Toppers and Decorations

Customers are responsible for checking all spelling, wording, dates and personalised details before approval.

Casali Cakes is not liable for damage, loss, or breakage to toppers or decorations once they have been placed on the cake or left in a safe location.

 

11. Photography & Marketing

Casali Cakes reserves the right to photograph cakes, desserts and setups for use across:

  • social media,
  • website galleries,
  • advertising,
  • marketing materials,
  • portfolios.

No personal customer information will be shared publicly without permission.

 

12. Conduct & Respect Policy

Threats, abusive behaviour, bullying, harassment, defamatory comments or inappropriate conduct through email, social media, messaging platforms or in person will not be tolerated. Casali Cakes reserves the right to cancel orders without refund and pursue legal action where necessary.
